However, it was only in 1870, where the X.O cognac, the famous Hennessy XO was born. Maurice Henessy created the X.O (Extra Old) classification of cognac originally for family and friends. Today, it is one of the most famous cognac brands in the world and is a worldwide reference for cognacs.
